Up, up and Away!

We had some great fun today, attempting to fly a radio-controlled helicopter for the first time. We all managed to get it airbourne and moderately controlable. The result was, we all want one now! 

Oh What a Beautiful Morning...

We are now in one of my favourite times of the year, as Summer draws to an end and Autumn is waiting in the wings. It was such a beautiful morning, with a light mist hanging in the valley and dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.

Out of interest, this picture was taken with a Sony Erricson K800i Mobile Phone. The camera is 3.2 mega pixel, with all the options needed for great point-and-click photographs. 

Is it a plane...

This is a Hummingbird Hawk Moth, that was recently feeding in the garden. I've never seen these before and was amazed to see the speed that they move about the plants. This area seems to be quite rich in butterflies and moths and there is a great deal of interest in the various species to be found.
